How to use YouTube creator promo codes

Many developer and AI tools sponsor YouTube creators, and the sponsorship usually comes with a promo code: extra credits, a free month or a percentage off. These codes are public, but they are easy to misread, they expire, and they often apply only to new accounts. This guide shows how to find the code, check that it is still live and apply it correctly.

What you need before you start

  • The name of the tool you want and, ideally, the creator who mentioned it.
  • A new account on the tool, or confirmation that the code works for existing accounts. Most creator codes are new-customer only.
  • A payment method, if the tool asks for one at checkout. Some codes only appear after you enter billing details.
  • Five minutes to read the offer terms before you pay.

Find the code in the video

  1. Open the video on YouTube and expand the description by clicking 'more'. Sponsor codes are usually in the first few lines or in a 'Sponsor' section.
  2. If the description is long, use your browser's find feature (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F) and search for 'code', 'promo' or the tool's name.
  3. Check the pinned comment. Creators sometimes post updated or corrected codes there.
  4. Watch the sponsor segment itself. The spoken code and the written code should match; if they differ, the written one is usually more recent.
  5. Note the exact spelling, including capital letters and numbers. Codes are often case sensitive.

Codes in old videos are often expired. Prefer the creator's most recent video that mentions the same sponsor.

Check that the code is still current

  1. Look at the video's upload date. Codes from videos more than a few months old are more likely to have ended.
  2. Search PerkRadar's promo code list for the tool. Listed codes are checked against a public page, and members can report codes that stopped working.
  3. Read the tool's own pricing or promotions page. If the offer described in the video no longer matches what the provider publishes, assume the code has changed.
  4. Look for terms in the description such as 'first month only', 'annual plans' or 'new users'. These limit when the code applies.

Apply the code

  1. Sign up for the tool directly on its official website. Avoid lookalike domains and links from unknown sources.
  2. Go to the plan or billing page and choose the plan the code is meant for. Many codes only work on a specific tier or billing period.
  3. Find the field labeled 'promo code', 'coupon' or 'redeem'. It may be on the checkout page, in account billing settings or behind an 'Add code' link.
  4. Type or paste the code and apply it before you confirm payment. Check that the total or credit balance changes.
  5. If the code is for credits rather than a discount, open the billing or credits page afterwards to confirm the balance and the expiry date.
  6. Take a screenshot of the confirmation in case you need to contact support.

If the code does not work

  • Retype it instead of pasting; copied text can include hidden spaces.
  • Check that you are on the right plan and billing period, and that your account is new if the offer requires it.
  • Try the code at signup if it failed in settings, or the other way around. Some tools only accept codes in one place.
  • Contact the tool's support and mention the creator and video. Sponsors sometimes honor recently expired codes.
  • If you found the code on PerkRadar, use the 'Code didn't work? Report it' link on the offer page so other members know.

Never pay for a code. Creator codes are free and public; anyone selling them is selling something you can find yourself or something that will not work.

Keep track of what you redeemed

Creator codes often give a free month or a block of credits that quietly runs out. If you do not track them, you can end up paying full price for a tool you meant to cancel, or miss the chance to use credits you already have.

  1. Write down the tool, the code's benefit and the date it ends, for example in a calendar event or a simple note.
  2. If the code gives a free period, set a reminder a few days before it ends so you can decide whether to keep paying.
  3. If you use PerkRadar, open the tool's offer page and click 'Mark claimed' so it shows in your account.
  4. When the benefit ends, check your first full-price invoice to make sure nothing unexpected was added.
