How to get Stripe Atlas perks
Stripe Atlas helps founders form a Delaware company and comes with a bundle of partner discounts and Stripe product credits. The perks are only unlocked once your Atlas application is approved, and each partner offer has its own terms. This guide covers the cost, the incorporation steps and how to claim the perks once you are in.
What you need before you start
- A company name and a short description of the business.
- Details for every co-founder, including how equity will be split.
- A payment method for the one-time setup fee. Stripe's Atlas page lists it as $500, including state filing fees and the first year of registered agent service. Registered agent service then renews at $100 per year.
- A Stripe account, or the willingness to create one, since Atlas runs inside the Stripe Dashboard.
Stripe's Atlas page says the $500 fee is refunded if you fund a Stripe Treasury bank account with $5,000 within 90 days. Check the current terms before relying on this.
Form your company with Atlas
Stripe notes that Atlas is not a law firm and its information is not legal, tax or accounting advice. If your situation is unusual, speak to a professional first.
- Go to Stripe's official Atlas page and start an application.
- Enter your company details and add your co-founders. Each co-founder will need to provide their own information.
- Review and sign the formation documents.
- Pay the setup fee.
- Wait for incorporation. Stripe says Delaware incorporation takes about two business days, after which Atlas gets your tax ID, issues founder equity and files your 83(b) election.
- Open a business bank account when prompted.
Find your perks
- Wait until your Atlas application is approved. Stripe's support page says perks become available after approval.
- Sign in to the Stripe Dashboard with the account you used for Atlas.
- Open the Atlas section and select the Perks tab.
- Browse the list of partner offers. Stripe advertises access to more than $50,000 in partner discounts, including offers on tools such as Google, Xero and AWS. This is an advertised total across all partners, not a single grant.
- Read each offer's terms before claiming. Stripe says partners may have their own eligibility or compliance requirements, and offers change over time.
Redeem partner offers
- Pick the offers you will actually use in the next few months. Many credits expire, so claiming everything at once can waste them.
- Click through to each partner from the Perks tab rather than visiting their site directly, so the offer is linked to your Atlas company.
- Sign up with your company email and the legal company name from your Atlas formation documents.
- Enter any code or follow any claim link shown in the Perks tab.
- Confirm the credit or discount appears in the partner account, and note any expiry date.
- If a partner says you are not eligible, contact Stripe or the partner and check whether the offer has changed.
Some perks are time-limited from incorporation. The Stripe Treasury offer, for example, requires activity within 90 days.
Use the Stripe product credits
Stripe's Atlas page advertises $2,500 in Stripe product credits for your first year after incorporation. Stripe's support page says these apply to Stripe Payment Links and Stripe Invoicing. Set up whichever of those you will use early in the year, since the credits only cover the first year.
- In the Dashboard, set up Payment Links or Invoicing.
- Check the Perks tab or your billing settings to confirm the credits are active.
- Add a calendar reminder for your incorporation anniversary, when the credits stop applying.
Keep a perks tracker
With dozens of partner offers, it is easy to forget which ones you claimed and when they expire. A short tracker saves money and avoids surprise charges when free periods end.
- Create a simple spreadsheet with columns for partner, offer, date claimed, expiry date and the account email used.
- Add each perk as you claim it, not later.
- Set reminders a few weeks before each discount or free period ends, so you can decide whether to keep paying.
- Check the Perks tab every few months. Stripe says offers change, and new partners may appear.
- Compare with other founder perk bundles, such as those from banking and finance platforms, before paying for a tool that one of them might cover.
