Faculty, research staff and graduate students at accredited research institutions can apply for AWS promotional credits to run research on AWS, including on-demand and spot GPU instances. Student awards are capped at $5,000; faculty and staff awards are not capped.
How to claim this perk
Follow these steps through AWS.

Read the eligibility rules and FAQ on the AWS Cloud Credit for Research page.

Click Apply now and submit your research proposal.

AWS emails decisions from aws-research-credit@amazon.com; credits are applied to your AWS account.
Who can apply?
- Full-time faculty or research staff, or a graduate/PhD student, at an accredited research institution
- Research project that will run on AWS
- EC2 credit covers on-demand and spot instances only
